Praia dos Caneiros is a Portuguese beach located in the parish of Ferragudo, municipality of Lagoa, with the peculiar (but not exclusive) characteristic of facing a large rock isolated by the water which is called "Leixão das Gaivotas "out there to nest large numbers of that sea bird. It was in ancient times known as Praia de João Belbut due to the fact that the land surrounding the cliff to the east belonged to that. It's a blue flag beach.
